Has anyone got a mortgage without being on electoral roll?

Hi, I’m currently applying for mortgage through a broker (first time buyer) - unfortunately as I’ve moved around a fair bit I haven’t always updated my documents and I’m currently in a situation where I’m not registered to vote at my current address. My DIP with Platform was refused due to this reason, my broker is now making another application with another lender but I’m worried it’s going to be the same issue. I have contacted my council and asked them to add me to electoral register and they have done this but said credit agencies won’t be given this info until 01/03 as this is just the way the system works. I’m worried as I don’t think the vendor will be willing to wait until March for me to put my mortgage application in and I wondered if anyone has had a similar issue and managed to sort it? I have an email from the council confirming I’ve been added, my driving licence has been updated with new address and I have also just got a new passport. Feeling really stressed and just looking for stories of hope although I haven’t much hope

I used to sell mortgages and I wouldn’t advise submitting an application unless everyone was on the role as it’s likely to get rejected.

It affected us and we had to pull out of our purchase, register on the electoral roll and wait 6 months before reapplying

Yes, but it was nearly 20 years ago.

We moved into my DH's parents' house after selling our property before buying our current one and I completely forgot about registering for the electoral roll. We had been living there one month when we found our property and we got a mortgage with no issues. It was with Halifax.

We were registered at our previous address. I don't know if this made any difference.
