Bank account for 9 near old (not savings)

Hi I’d like to open a bank account for my 9 year old. Not a savings one but just one for pocket money, hopefully with a card she can use to buy small bits etc. Is this too young for her own account? I see some banks only do it from 12. Interested in hearing any recommendations, thanks!

Hmmm I’ve just come across Go Henry, that looks pretty good although you do have to pay £2.99 per month after the first two months. Wondering if there’s a free option!

I think hyperjar is free. Never used either. Mine use cash, or give me cash if im buying online for them.

Hyperjar works well for us, can open earlier age than high street banks, has a card and Is free.

Hyperjar is great and free. My kids have no idea it's any different than a "real" bank account but I can keep an eye on what they spend.
