Has been caught on camera doing 93 on an A road. I should know the speed limit, is it 60?

Anywat this person has to go to court .

Has no points or other convictions.

I imagine this might be a ban. I think it is automatic if going going over 90 in a 60.

bloody hell - yes I think that's an instant ban - at the very very least will be 3 points and £60 fine. but as it was so much, I know if you do 100 on a motorway it's an instant ban as well - so one would assume the same rules would apply on an A road going that fast.

Have looked it up, the section it happened on has a 70 limit.

Just found a site that said, a ban is discretionary, if the driver has no points. The scale says that on a 70 basis, anything up to 30mph, carries a dicretional 14 day ban, a fine and points.

Still no reason to celebrate - speed limits are there for a reason.

It is an option between 6 points and a fine of one week's take home pay or a disqualification, plus a fine.
