Has anyone been successful in getting a late payment removed?

I had an issue with a recent direct debit for Sky. It went through on the 2nd direct debit attempt (around 7 days later) but they have still recorded it on my credit file as a late payment (1m late).

The other thing I don’t agree with is that we have been with them for 6 years and only now we have a late payment have they asked to me added to my credit report.

Has anyone been successful in having a late payment removed. All other payments have been made on time and this is no significantly impacting my score.

But it was a late payment so they have to record it as such. They can't just pretend it didn't happen. 1month late could mean 1m or less and be the minimum category for late payments.

I get that they have to record it but I’m looking for people who have been successful in getting a late payment removed as I know it is possible

It is only possible if they are at fault. If the payment was late then it is late.

I don’t know if this is what you’re after, but… my husband has two credit cards, different companies. We share one, and for some reason once, he paid both bills on to the same credit card. I rang up the credit card for our joint account, (I was mortified) and apologised when we realised what had happened a month later with the credit card! They were really nice and said that they could see we had never made a late payment and always paid it in full every month so they waived it. Obviously it’s slightly different to your situation but I hope it’s of some help :)
