does anyone know how credit card companies calculate minimum monthly payment

Am trying to set up a couple of standing order to pay off just a little bit more than the minimum payment. Unfortunately the credit card companies can tell me how much it will be at the moment because they dont know how much I will spend on the card this month. I do, nothing! Is it calculated on a percentage per £100 or £1000 worth of spending do you know?
TIA

I think it depends on the credit card company - some just charge the interest as a minumum payment, some have a higher amount (but I'm not sure how they calculate it).

Can you work it out from an old bill?

Think it is usually minimum payment of £5 or 5% of balance(or some percentage of balance depending on card). They should be able to tell you what %!
