Child Tax Credit Overpayment... from 2008!

I've received a letter out of the blue from CTC stating that they made an overpayment of £160 in 2008. Yes, 13 years ago.

This is the first I've ever heard about this. And I'm 90% sure that if I ever did get this overpayment that it is a mistake on their half anyway as I've been mobility disabled and on benefits due to the fact I'm not fit for work for 15+ years, so there's never been any changes nor any non benefit income in the household - just me and my children.

I've tried doing a quick Google search and from what I can see, a lot of websites are stating that the DWP can only reclaim overpayments from 6 months up to a max of 10 years after the overpayment. This is dated 13 years ago!

Does anyone know the legality of this? How long they have to reclaim overpayments, and what I should do? Ignore? I don't have access to my banking details from 13 years ago, and I feel if I call to query this, I'll be pressured into making payments.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance x
