Let’s hope we win big November for Christmas

OP posts:
MsEmmeline · 01/12/2021 06:20

No big win here either; fingers crossed for tomorrow!

WhatsWrongWithMyUsername · 01/12/2021 07:50

£50 would be a welcome help for Christmas shopping

OublietteBravo · 01/12/2021 08:31

No big win for me again. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

poolblue · 01/12/2021 08:33

NOBODY in our county won a big prize. Time to reboot the computer me thinks.

Cheeseandlobster · 01/12/2021 08:39

@Blondeshavemorefun

Feb 2021 and wins a million with only a few thousand

Wtf !!

I think this is amazing and gives us all hope that you don't need a full holding to win.
MrsMcCluskeysCat · 01/12/2021 08:45

Lots of big winners in my county this month but sadly not me!

RockaLock · 01/12/2021 09:16

It's been a bad week. In the space of a couple of days I've not won: the Omaze house; the £1m prize; any large prize Sad

Fingers crossed for £25 tomorrow - good luck everyone.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/12/2021 09:26

@Cheeseandlobster I agree it gives us all Hope

I def don’t have £50k in bonds

I’m just envious lol

And yes I should aim higher then £25 😂

Fingers crossed we all see a good result later. I got nothing last month but 2 x £25 the month before

FawnFrenchieMum · 01/12/2021 11:31

Just seen someone in Fife who only has £45 holdings has won £5k! Bet that makes their Christmas!!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 01/12/2021 11:35

Just saw that.

Dashel · 01/12/2021 11:36

No large wins here either😭

This time last year I won £500 which was amazing! I am still hoping for another significant win at some point (in my head that’s £100 or more so not necessarily life changing)

I noticed that a couple of the winners said abroad and I thought you had to be resident in the UK (not that it’s an issue as it’s not likely to apply to me)

LuckyHedgehog · 01/12/2021 12:34

Dashel I live abroad, hold Premium Bonds and opened accounts for the DC a few years ago without any issues; you just need to have a UK bank account, I think. There are certain countries (the US is one, IIRC) that don't allow residents to hold Premium Bonds but NS&I doesn't have any problems with holders living abroad.

Only one overseas holder on the list of big winners this month - not us, sadly!

fedup078 · 01/12/2021 20:46

Unusual amount of big wins from my county this month
Not me of course

SwedishEdith · 01/12/2021 21:57

Someone bought 25k in Oct to add to their £3 holding and has won 10k.

EasterIssland · 01/12/2021 22:03

Excited for tomorrow. Fil keeps getting pissed off because I win £25 and they get nothing :)

nettersrunboulder86 · 01/12/2021 22:11

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

bumbl · 01/12/2021 22:12

Placemarking for tomorrow - good luck everyone Smile

NigellaSeed · 01/12/2021 22:22

Good luck all. I won £25 last month. There was a brief moment between getting the text and checking my account when I was and wasn't a millionaire. It was like Schrödingers cat 🐱

DrMadelineMaxwell · 01/12/2021 22:34

Fingers crossed all.

I've won £75 in the PayPal pre Christmas draw so I fear I've already used up my good luck this month!

DawnAnn · 02/12/2021 00:04

Nothing for me this month. I have won on the previous 3 month's draws though so can't complain. Good luck everyone else x

Cheeseandlobster · 02/12/2021 00:26

£25 for me this month Smile

AnnieSnap · 02/12/2021 01:38

They are said (by Martin Lewis) to be really bad value these days. They have reduced the number of prizes twice in recent years, so far fewer winners. That said, there is bugger all interest in savings accounts, so I don’t feel I’m losing much keeping money in premiums bonds.

BarbaraofSeville · 02/12/2021 03:15

Actually, Martin Lewis says they're pretty good for larger amounts, over around 10k because you're likely to win prizes at a rate of 0.9% which beats all other instant access.

That's alongside fixing if you can tie the money up, and investing if you are comfortable with the risk and don't need the money for a few years, but if it's your emergency fund, savings for home improvements, or house equity between purchases, you might as well gamble the certainty of a small amount of interest on winning something larger.

Disappointingly, I've won nothing for 5 months in a row on an average of around £32k, but I've still matched instant access for the year due to wins earlier in the year.
