Before or after tax ?

TheIceQueen · 10/12/2007 16:52

ermm - after would be useful (so I know what I'm really getting LOL).

£4416 pa gross, £84.92 p/wk .

JillJ72 · 10/12/2007 16:54

20 times 5.52 = a (weekly wage) £110.40

a times 40 = b (annual wage, for 40 weeks) £4416

b divided by 52 = c (average wage for 52 weeks) £84.92

All gross (so before tax and NI)

LIZS · 10/12/2007 16:54

You won't pay tax unless you have other income to take you over the threshold but may have to make NI contributions

TheIceQueen · 10/12/2007 16:55

thanks

Is this your only income ??

If so the large majority of it should be tax free.

LIZS · 10/12/2007 16:56

NI only payable above £100 p/wk earnings

BrieVinDeAlkaSeltzer · 10/12/2007 16:56

Aha

Beaten to it.

TheIceQueen · 10/12/2007 16:57

NI wouldn't be much on that though would it?? I'm currently on SMP and "take home" is about £447 - of which approx £1.70 is taken out for NI.....so hardly bank breaking stuff..

ooooo - this job may just fit my requirements for salary - and term time only too.....

Brie - yes my only income......trying to find something to do when my Mat leave finishes as I 'm NOT going back to the hell hole that was work.....but can't afford to SAHM......hours are 6-10am - so I'd still be at home for the majority of the day.....
