AIBU: Ex asked for help and now has £4.7k would you expect a payment

So ex and I are amicable which is great. He helps me with things I help him. Since Feb 2021 I have been helping him sort out gas and electric as theres been a problem. Having no joy I convinced him to switch companies which went fine. After no joy with first company I raised a complaint on his behalf with the ombudsman. lots of back and forth with emails, calls and evidence. Ultimately he has just had a £4.7k payout.
AIBU to feel slightly miffed at not getting anything as a thanks? I might get £100 or I might not. Bear in mind I have done all the emails, phone calls, collating evidence and organising the switch of contract for him.
I tempted to joke with him about my hourly rate! I know its not my money - I just feel miffed.

How would you feel?
Thanks from slightly green with envy cos his xmas will be fab!

Do you have DC together? Surely he would buy them something or give you money towards something they needed?

No, I wouldn't expect a payment really. It's his money that he got back.

A payout of that size will primarily be an overpayment, return of money he has paid out, not compensation. I might expect a token gesture, chocolates or wine, but not a monetary sum.
