HMRC Correction

Hi all,
Hoping someone has some knowledge about HMRC corrections.
DH made a massive cock up last week, where they were going to over pay him by £1000.
Wage slip shows this and so does his PAYE on HMRC.
No wages went into the bank on Friday AM and they made a FP/CHAPS payment friday and his usual wage went into the bank Friday at 5.30.
However, he doesnt have an updated wage slip and HMRC is still showing the higher figure, which is going to screw our UC payment up next week and us (having had the pay the £900) in childcare today.
He asked them to make the correction with HMRC on friday and as of 5 mins ago, it hasnt been changed.
How long does it take to update with HMRC and am I right in thinking they legally have to update the info?
I’m seriously panicking as the UC is the money we live off as we pay all the bills out of our wages.

I know you've contacted UC, but please make sure you've done it in writing. A phone call is fine, but always best to have a record of you reporting it in case of dispute.

To be fair, HMRC updated very quickly on Friday. Hoping it will be the same again.

Fingers crossed. HMRC are friggin useless at the moment!

We have an amended wage slip, bank statement and an email confirming what happened and that the correction has been made. The HMRC online service is unavailable at the mo so im hoping that is a good thing!

@userxx i know! I feel like I can breathe again haha sounds dramatic but I really do not cope well with stress!
