Help where do i stand on this massive credit card mess...

I have a credit card & was going to do a balance transfer from another credit card BUT i cancelled it 2 days after application because i decided it was just going to get us into deeper debt & to just come clean with credit card i already had that i was struggling..

Well it was never cancelled & they decided they were going to go ahead & transfer the money over anyway even without my concent.

I am livid & i did not want to do this, i cancelled it but the money has gone over but not yet reached the other card.

Where do i stand & what can i do? I am waiting for the halifax to call me back they are saying they can do a callback but it will take 8-10 weeks, i can't wait 8-10 weeks as i am going to have to pay these cards in the mean time.

anything else i can do? where can i complain?

Ok, how about not cancelling it but let it go over to the other card so you only have one card to pay (presuming you were originally goingto do it cos the rate was cheaper?)

And then CUT UP the original card.

And then complain much later and get vouchers/interest discount something.

Lauriefairycake · 20/11/2007 13:31

That way you still only have one card.

Problem is there is no pint because it is £1600+ short of what the other card was, so it's not paying it off!

damn, so you'll still have two.

I can really sympathise - got myself into real trouble when i got divorced and lost my job a few years ago (all the way to a ccj )

Hope things improve

Well they said they are going to recall it but it will take 8 weeks.

Aparently it's all they can do, i am going to write a complaints letter as this is so wrong, this people just want to get you into debt don't they.

presume new card at a lower /zero interest rate ? so you will be better off as long as you destrpoy the old card !
