Back in october, Dh and i were meeting friends in a local restaurant, pulled up outside, immediately realised we were in the bus stop zone and moved off again and parked elsewhere.

We received a fine last week and I sent it back asying that we had not parked in the zone, we had merely pulled up[, realsied our error, and moved off again.

The coucil have just replied saying that the fine still stands as they have photos and sure enough they have sent us copies of 8 photos showing our car in the zone, the 8 photos are 59 seconds apart. You can see us in the car, discussing whether it's okay to park, and although there isn't a photot of us outside the car there is one of us getting back in, having checked the zone restriction. The council are saying that we shouldn't have gone through the zone even moving spo the fine still stands.

However, the time on the clocks is 21.57 and 21.58 and this is wrong. We attempted to park at 19.55/19.58 and have reliable witnesses to prove that we were in the restaurant at 21.57/21.58 (reliable being one policeman and one solicitor). Would it be enough for me to prove that we could not have been there when they (ie the photos) say we were or will they say that the time is irrelevant as the restriction is 24 hours?

TIA

I would try your luck, you never know they might let you off.

if the restriction is 24 hours i don't think that the time on their camera will make a difference tbh.

ChippyJaneMinton · 19/11/2007 13:53

You did not commit the offence at the alleged time. Definately appeal.

mckenzie · 19/11/2007 14:18

that's what i thought ChippyJM. Isn't it something to do with the camera being correctly callaberated?

The time being wrong will make a difference. Their equipment has to be accurate for them to uphold the ticket. You should be able to get out of it. They do not have photos of you and therefore no proof at the correct time.

Try this site. The forums are excellent for helping with this sort of thing. The site wasn't working for me earlier but worth trying later. They help you through all stages of fighting your ticket.

no probs.....good luck

I've looked at the website LLPJ but it seems only to deal with the speeding fines, not parking. Thanks for the link though, it might come in handy some other time!

They do have a parking ticket section here

sorry llpj, not sure how I missed that. I'll take another look.
