Amazon account for a teen?

Hi all - we’ve bought DS a new kindle for his birthday, he’ll be 15 and has a debit card and his own email. Does anyone know if it’s possible to open him his own Amazon (UK) account? I’ve tried looking all over Amazon but can’t find the info (having a migraine is not helping), so I thought it might be ask if any of you have done this. Thank you 😊

Dd (11) uses our account (as we have prime, otherwise she would have to pay delivery) but pays for the stuff she wants with her card.
But I don't really know how it works with the kindle though 🤔

Thank you - it probably would be easier if he carried on using our Prime but I added his card. I just thought it might be nice for him to set his Kindle up with his own email.

DD16 has one but she uses ours because we have Prime

Mine both have them. I tell them to use mine as U have prime but they add gift vouchers and their own card to theirs so it doesn’t get jumbled up

I can't remember when my now 18yo got his kindle, but know it is more than 5 years ago.
He set up his own Amazon account for it (if he didn't already have one).

I had a shared household with my then DP - you both have your own account but can share kindle purchases between the accounts.

With hindsight I'd set up a separate Amazon account just for my kindle, so that my order history isn't mainly comprised of books (I buy at least one free one most days from the Bookbub email).

My kids both set up their own amazon account when they got debit cards, so around 12 years old.
