Shared Ownership and Help to buy

Evening all,

Up until now my other half and I have earner just over the £80000 threshold to qualify for the help to buy shared ownership scheme. I have now started maternity leave and will be reducing my hours once I return to work which will then allow us to become eligible. Does anybody know if we would qualify now that I am on SMP with the future reference that we will earn less than £80000.

Many thanks

We had the same when we brought 11 months ago. To be honest they never actually made a single check with our employers as to how much we earnt. But I did have my employer write a letter to state that I would be returning on reduced hours and that showed that the new income would be under the 80k. They told me that they just looked at the current payslips at the time which showed the SMP. So it was great timing for us!

How on earth did you not realise you were replying to yourself?

I honestly haven't stopped laughing about this! I was scrolling through MN to keep myself awake whilst trying to get the baby back to sleep in the night and thought ah we had the same question.

It was only after I realised it was bloody me asking haha! I couldn't work out how to delete it so I will continue to chuckle to myself about it now!

#howembarassing!
