Refund on to an expired credit card?

I have a trip booked through hoseasons next month which is obviously going to be cancelled. The CC I originally paid on has expired, do I need to contact them to give them the new card details or will the money find it’s way back to me? I’ve tried calling them but haven’t managed to get through yet. Thanks 😊

Is it a completely new credit card or just a case of card expired, they sent you a new one for the same account? I'm now on my fourth card for my main credit account, and everything has always travelled smoothly through even though the actual long number and CVC code has changed every time.

They have to refund the original form of payment to satisfy anti money laundering policies.

If you have a nee card on the same account the refund should just show as normal on your account.

If you no longer have the account they still have to refund the account and you would then need to contact the card provider and ask them to BACS transfer the funds to your once cleared.

Thanks for the quick replies. It’s the same account just a new card as the old one expired so it should be fine then 😀

I have never had any problem with this until Center Parcs refunded me and the money left their account but didn't make it to mine. Quick call to card provider and all sorted do you don't need to ring Hoeseasons but keep a close eye on your account as you may need to ring credit card company.

Yeah 95% of the time it makes it automatically, if they can't reconcile it as your automatically it will reach a holding account at your bank and the bank can move it to your account once you alert them.
