Is my credit score okay?

My credit score is 458 out of 700 with equifax. I thought that was okay but really I don't know what's good and bad. I have an overdraft of -£450 which I expect to pay off in 6 weeks and then I want to close the option- will closing it help my score? TIA

Credit scores are meaningless, all lenders assess differently, but most see use of an overdraft as a bad thing, even when it's not increasing and you only use the free part so it doesn't cost you anything.

In your situation, I'd get a credit card and use it to pay for some of your normal spending and set up a direct debit to pay the bill off in full every month. This will also have the advantage of keeping you out of overdraft for more of the month, because whatever spending you put on your card stays in your current account instead for a few weeks, so saves overdraft interest and has a positive not negative effect on how the banks see your money management.
