HELP.... I've been having problems with my neighbour. He's playing loud music with lots of bass really late at night, early morning infact any time of day. It makes my whole flat shake!! Wakes my DS 6mo, DP & I. Police have been caled after I had an altercation with a woman when I went round & asked them to turn it down (after waking DS for the 3rd time) I got a load of Verbal Abuse!

Enviromental Health can't do anything untill it becomes a regular accurance ie. every weekend.
Obviously me going round there doen't help either!! I'm at a loose end! What can i do??

If they rent you r could complain to their landlord or lettings agency. They are probably in breach of their contratc if they are casuing a nuisance. Be careful though as if you try to sell your flat in the future you will have to declare any complaints about neighbours on the homebuyers forms.

Its housing assocation. I've told my Housing officer. But all they have doen is sent me some diary sheets to keep a record of annoyance's. But wile i'm keeping note, i can't bare living here. I'm compleatly misserable. So is there anything i can do in the mean time, wile im waiting for the housing assocation to sort it? I reckon he has recieved a letter from the ass as the noise is getting worse! I feel compleatly stuck!!

Tangas,
Is it a terraced house? Keep a diary, and ask other neighbours if they can hear it. If they can, ask them to complain as well.

do keep accurate notes they'll form the basis of any statement that they make if it gets as far as legal action. make sure you put in the notes the effect this is having on you and your family. Do not accept it though if you send them to the HA and they do nothing with them. get neighbours on side if you can - and get them to keep notes too. If you are keeping copious notes and they are not acting on them then they are failing in thier duty and you should persue them via their complaints proceedure. Ask them for a copy of thier policy (they have a duty to provide this)and ensure that it is being followed. They ought to visit your neighbour as a minimum if only to advise that he's putting his home at risk if he carries on like this. Try and get your HO to witness the noise if that is practical. there are plenty of things that they can do - go on breach of tenancy, an injunction and EH have the power to size equipment etc etc - so if they are wringing thier hands over it then thay are falling short in my opinion. keep in regular contact and dont let it drift - then they cant either. Hope this helps a bit good luck!

it sounds like it is a regular occurance - call the police
