l got tariff details from edf, and for electricity unit rate is 18.54p per kWh for gas it is 3.711p per kWh. so cheaper boiling litres of water by gas than using electricity?
for a single person what companies and tips for cheaper bills? l know paying by direct debit, gets a discount.

Your unit price for both looks expensive.
But yes, electricity is generally more expensive per unit than gas.
Can you find the information of how much gas and electricity you have used in 12 months? If so, put that information into a switching site and see which companies come out the most competitive.
