Old bank info/credit reports

Hi. I need to arrange a credit report in order to proceed with a mortgage. I got myself into an awful stressed out mess today trying to do this due to some of the identifying questions asked on the credit site. We need to buy or rent somewhere soon before we hand over the keys to my current place so need to arrange things quickly. The website was wanting to know some details pertaining to a bank account that I'd opened up over 10 years ago Confused. I had been overseas travelling in the year in question and bought my flat several months after returning however I can't remember the details that they're asking for because a) it was so long ago, b) it's likely that I only have a small amount in the account if it still exists if it's the one I'm thinking of and it's just been sitting there untouched for years and c) it might possibly be a different bank account than the one I'm thinking of but I can't remember what fucking date I set it up.

The other questions they asked were for more recent and specific purchases so I recalled them easily and was able to obtain the information because I had emails and stuff to remind me.

I don't deal well with money stuff or stress so I had a bit of a mini breakdown trying to find this info. The website then kicked me out due to being inactive and I'm going to have to phone them tomorrow to try to login. I'm hoping that they can ask me other questions because I'm probably stuffed if they're insisting on me answering these questions about this ancient bank account.

If I phone each of the two banks that it could be are they likely to be able to help me? Thanks.

The banks will definately help you they will just go through your security information or you could take your I'Dand go to the bank.

Which credit report are you trying to order?

Thanks, I'm going to visit the banks with my ID and find out. Didn't sleep well last night worrying about this.

It's Equifax. I already did one credit check with another company but the broker has asked me to do this one too.

Thanks, in the end I didn't even get asked about the bank info when I phoned to unlock my account. It's all sorted now though ☺️
