Parents wishes not written in a will

Can anyone legally trained please advise me?
Following the death of my mum it appears she hadn't amended her will to show the shares in her name were just for us, her children.
This is something she told us in last few years.
Her husband claims no knowledge of this.
Can we challenge this?
Thanks

Maybe she left an Expression of Wish form with the Share company saying who she would like them to pass to. Does her Will state everything gors to her husband.

Yes her will says everything to her husband.
I will enquire about an expression of wish form, thank you.

Challenging a will is expensive and rarely successful, unless on grounds that you could expect maintenance because you were supported by them - usually either because you are a child or a vulnerable adult. Assuming neither apply then essentially people can leave their money to whoever they wish (as awful and frustrating as that can be). Is her DH not your DF? Are you sure it is the latest will that is being referenced?

I doubt you can challenge it if there is nothing in writing about her wishes.. But you can always seek legal advice. I am assuming her husband is not your father. In that case it might depend on how long she's been married.

Thank you for your replies.
No, her husband is not my father and they had been married 30+ years.
We believe she hadn't amended her will, although we are waiting for the original to be sent.
I'm just very sad her wishes are not being honoured.
