Bonus on maternity leave and benefits

So I am on maternity leave and am in receipt of u oversaw credit as a top up benefit

My boss has just rang to say I’ve got a sizeable bonus coming at the end of the month but will be taxable so will come out with about £700

Will this be taken into account when i am having my benefits calculated to be paid to me later in the month?

Concerned because I had applied for the benefits too early when I first went on maternity and as I had earned over the maximum amount my claim was closed and I had to resubmit which took another 6 weeks and with this virus I bet they are even more back dated

Yes if on Universal credit it will be treated in the same way as earnings but will depend which assessment period it is paid in. For each additional pound received in bonus above what you currently receive your Uc will reduce by 63p.

I thought it was the case.

I guess I’ll have to wait to see how much I’m due from work before working out if I’ll be entitled to anything from uc

It’s so annoying being on maternity you can’t budget properly, be easier if it was a flat rate every month as up to press it’s changed every month and sometimes I’ve just had enough for the bills due on my pay day!
