Experian: credit card and mortgage not listed

Just that really. My credit report has no record of my credit card and mortgage and I'm keen to get this done to improve my credit score. Can anyone tell me how I do this? I've tried the website and am having no joy whatsoever.

Thank you.

I think it depends on what site you are using. I use clear score and there is a section you can report corrections and I believe they contact the right credit reference agency (I think either Equifax or Experian) to get it corrected. It’s been years since I done that though.

I use Money Saving Expert’s Credit Club - it’s free.

Not all banks report to all credit reference agencies and when assessing credit worthiness, the banks will use a selection of them. I'm not sure that it's possible to get a bank to send data to a CRA that it's not currently working with, but I may be wrong.

You'd best be joining MSEs credit club and reading all the information about improving your credit score. It will probably advise that you take out another credit card that definitely reports to Experian.

But there is also no such thing as a credit score and each bank makes it's own individual judgement based on your relationship with them and information on your credit history, which may or may not be the CRA that your existing accounts are reported to. Do you have anything reported on your credit file currently?
