He cam thursday but didn't have the 'bit' he needed as so many wahsers have been doing this letely

so its been 9 days tomorrow with no washer!

Could I demand a replacement washer instead of a repair - Im not keen on keeping this one 'if loads of them' have been breaking down!

Its a hotpoint one - purchased from Additions.

I would demand your money back.

(do you really wanat a machine where4 so many are faulty, hotpoint arnt renouned for their relaibilty either, maybe choose a dif brand next time, like bosch, which does much better for reliabilty in which reports etc, or AEG or John Lewis)

a washing machine should be reasonably expected to last for mroe than 9 days...

It is therefor not of merchandisable quality and you are rejecting it for a full refund.

That is perfectly within your legal rights... as the fault developed within 6 minths it can be assumed to be faulty before you got it and its up to the retailer to prove you are at fault (which unless you dropped it down a flight of stairs or something are clearly not)

Tell them you are rejecting it and want a full refund, any arguements on there part quote 'sale of good act 1979' and stand your ground

did you pay be credit card? Card company are jointly liable if you did

sorry thought you said machine 9 days old

even so im sure you are still within your rigths to regect a machine that breaks after 3 weeks on the same grounds

speak to Trading Standards / Consumer Direct . You may no longer have the option of rejecting it if you have already agreed to the the repair. However your contract/dispute is with the retailer not Hotpoint.
