PayPal and buyer protection?

Ok, CLEARLY I’m an idiot for buying something from such a dodgy website in the first place! I bought two pairs of trousers online and the website stated a no-hassle refund if you were unhappy with your purchase saying “send us the product back and we’ll refund your money immediately”

The trousers arrived and I’m not happy with them. They don’t fit and they are different from the online pictures, but subtly so.

I have contacted them requesting information about returning for a refund. They ignored my emails until I involved PayPal resolution, where I said the company wasn’t communicating with me.
PayPal have now closed my dispute as the company has started emailing me, BUT they are giving me the ever loving run around. There must have been 5 messages now and they STILL haven’t provided me with the return address, and are saying they will not refund all, or even potentially ANY, of the money I paid.

Where do I stand in terms of buyer protection here. Are they obligated to refund me as per their “no-hassle” policy, or do I cop the loss?

Who closed the case? You or PayPal? If it was you then I think you have a problem.
I believe once a case is closed it can't be reopened. But it might be worth giving them a call, I find them a lot more helpful on the phone.
