So the average salary in uk is something like £30,000 a year
I’m just curious on people’s occupation and how much they are paid

Software engineer in the West Midlands. £46k I think it is a fair salary for what I do.

NHS admin- £27-29k depending on occasional overtime.

@lipperfromchipper Ireland is also pretty expensive compared to the UK! I say this as someone who lived in the UK most of my life and has recently moved down to Ireland. When I first found out the average salary for my line of work in Ireland I was pretty happy. Until I saw the difference in prices from every day items to rents!

@Mlou32 I also lived in the uk for a bit and I find the prices of most things much of a muchness to be honest.
More child allowance... I wouldn’t even get it in the Uk tbh
No council tax
No water bill
I own so I don’t pay extortionate rent I admit that rent here is RIDICULOUS!!
But food I think is pretty much the same- I feed my family of 4 for €55-65 per week!! And we eat well.
Clothing- well uk prices are still accessible from here.
Car tax and insurance is more yes
Health insurance is something we didn’t have but I just saw that as the council tax bill.
But I don’t think the prices are THAT different- depend on what you do and where you go.

@Lipperfromchipper ooomg 😭 I'm in NI but I'm on the boarder of Donegal. I'm a primary teacher too and I make roughly £21,000 after tax. I feel sick reading your post 😭 I need to get my Irish done!!
