Child tax credits and child working

Posting for a friend.

Dd currently attends full time college and I currently work full time (single parent) and claim tax credits.
I have been told by another friend that my child is allowed to work part time without it affecting my tax credits whilst staying in full time education. Is this true? I have tried to call tax credits but to no avail and constantly put through to a robot!

Any guidance or information would be greatly appreciated.

As long as she is doing 12 hours per week education she can get a part time job which will not affect tax credits. As long as she enrolled before her 19th birthday.
