Tax free childcare

I claimed tax credits from the birth of my second child in 2017
Last April they said I owed them money about £2000 I think which they’re taking each week off me
Nursery are explaining tax free childcare to us but I know I can’t do this while claiming tax credits
Should I cancel tax credits but continue to pay back money owed weekly?

No - if you qualify for the childcare element of Working Tax credits you should stick with that as you will be better off - I think its pays up to 80% of the cost. With tax free childcare you only get 20% off the cost.

At the moment though I'm not better off as repaying this over payment
