Does anyone know whether I should class meals as 'Childcare' costs for tax credits? Currently my son's meals are included in the monthly fee to nursery. However once he gets the government funded free hours the meals will be charged separately. I can't find any guidance to say whether these meal fees are or are not counted as childcare costs in terms of tax credits. I would need to update my claim and want to make sure I am doing it right but can't find anything online. I'd prefer not to have to call them if possible.
