Yes, thread 55 in a long series!
Thinking of joining an MLM? Forever Living? NuSkin? Younique? Valentus? One of the cryptocurrencies, weight loss coffees or travel agencies?
Read these threads first!
The vast majority of people who join an MLM actually LOSE money.
You don't have a business when you join an MLM, you are an unpaid rep.
On these threads you will find lots of examples of how 'uplines' lie to hook you in and keep you spending your own money.
You should also inform yourself by looking at

Wow. She used her friend's birthday to do a little commercial about herself and for her business. :O

returntostudy · 16/12/2019 22:28

This is a YouTube video of dragons den MLM pitch - even the experts hate the tactics!

Just thought this would interest someone who is thinking of joining MLM. Read these threads but have never commented. I was a former Avon and Forever living rep Hmm lost a lot of money and friends in the process. I'm now totally against MLM and very vocal about this if anybody try's to sell me MLM rubbish.

pilotsprincess · 16/12/2019 22:45

Hi all. A woman I know locally is a Forever Living rep. Shes an absolute pain in the backside with it, relentless. She does seem to be doing well though shes just been to Thailand for free? Taking her kids and dh. Shes been to Dallas and shes off to Oz next year?! How does that side of it work? Shes a very unusual person tbh very driven and relentless she seems to have no shame and take no social clues 🙈 she has fell out with alot of people. Im just curious how the holidaying side of it works as shes always away or looking forward to her free trips!

BSintolerant · 16/12/2019 23:17

Carry on Nurse!

GoldenKelpie · 16/12/2019 23:19

Hi pilot welcome to the thread Smile

The so called 'free' holidays? Well, the recent fl Thailand one was three days in total (including very long plane journeys to and from Thailand) with a few brief hours free time, the rest spent on travel and conference/training. Does that sound like a holiday to you? No, me neither.

Free holidays are never what they seem, often many hours of trainings and conferences plus hidden costs that the bots don't talk about (it is negative and that's not allowed) because they have to sell the dream. Sadly, it is not just a dream but a nightmare.

nakedavengeragain · 17/12/2019 00:03

Nurse has said on her personal page that her new business page is now up and to like the post for an invite. She's had 8 likes so far.

nakedavengeragain · 17/12/2019 00:13

@Spongebobette and the bot with the similar named group is much more successful (in the sense she's had a promotion and speaks at events). I don't think she's going to be happy when she finds out.

MLMsuperfan · 17/12/2019 00:29

Often the bots imply the holidays are all expense paid but we can see from clues they let slip that it's far from the case. Sometimes they have to pay for their own flights and accomodation, all that's free is the conference ticket. We see bots sharing cheap rooms to get the costs down. We see them queing to buy merchandise advertising the MLMs.

The trips are really a joint expense between the bots and the MLM, used to sell the dream on Facebook and the like.

CanICelebrate · 17/12/2019 06:45

My best friend and I always bought each other really thoughtful birthday and Christmas presents. Now I always get a tropic product (as does everyone else she knows). We have never bought each other smellies before! She must have spent hundreds of pounds buying her own stuff for everyone she knows at Christmas and every birthday, even her husbands present is a huge tropic set.

Norma27 · 17/12/2019 07:34

Yawn's team are all on track to make £4k per month. What a bloody lying cow. I can't wait for her to lose everything.

nakedavengeragain · 17/12/2019 07:50

Update. 12 hours after nurse asked people to like her post to be invited to the new group there's... still 8 likes. 1 is her mum, 2 are other Yawn downline bots

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 17/12/2019 08:07

I see that Yawn's latest recipient of the love bombing, along with her mentor, have been getting people to sponsor "care packs" for the homeless. 3 guesses what brand is going to feature in there.

The mentor has a post that says they did 106 packs. That's a lot of FL products (even if it's only one item per bag that is FL)

nakedavengeragain · 17/12/2019 08:36

One of the bots who has liked Nurse's 'like to be invited to my group' post is a new FL bot. Unsurprisingly she was love bombed last week by way of Yawn sending her flowers and congratulating her on a great first month in business and how she needs to aim for Supervisor. NewBot has a gushing post about Yawn and her handbags...

NCasIknowMNetters · 17/12/2019 09:03

Long time lurker on here. I think I may have just been approached by my first ever MLMBot. So exciting.

LinkedIn, message from a 'recruitment manager' who also has a 2 day a week "certified Health, Nutrition and Wellness company" which she fits in around her work and family. She hopes it will be full time next year!

They have several students/graduates and professionals woking for them so basically anyone?? and would I like a 30 minute chat about the opportunity?

I've replied:

Dear PotentialMLMScammer*

Thank you for reaching out. I am looking for more work, and would be interesting in hearing what kind of opportunity this is. I will just add a note that if this is linked to any of the MLM sales of products then this is not something I would touch with the proverbial barge-pole, and there would be no point in wasting either of our time.

If this is not the case you will appreciate my directness in stating that outright, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes, NCasIknow

*Obvs changed name to protect the innocent blah blah

So any bets on what product this will be?

9dartfinish2nd · 17/12/2019 09:46

Welcome @NCasIknowMNetters

This post screams of Beachbody or could possibly even be Herbalife.

No shortage of anti-Beachbody and Herbalife content on Youtube.

Youtube is now a wonderful resource of Anti-MLM content, ex-huns are no longer afraid of speaking out and are doing so in large numbers.

9dartfinish2nd · 17/12/2019 09:55

@pilotsprincess

If your FLP bot is as high ranking as you suspect you can type the persons name or her business name into Companies House website.

Some of the top bots mentioned on here have actually turned out to be insolvent, had their businesses dissolved, or are now carrying the burden of Directors loans that will eventually catch up with them and financially destroy them.

fromdownwest · 17/12/2019 09:57

Isagneix guess from me.

Re those homelss packs, yes it is amazing that the homeless are receiving gifts this time of year. One has to ask though, if the £10 donated had not been spent through FL and propping up their CC's how much more they would have had in their gift packs.

I create 'Dog Bundles' for my local dog shelter, and saving a few pence on one item, multiplied over 100 items, allows a lot more to be put in the gift bag.

MontanaSkies · 17/12/2019 11:20

@9dartfinish2nd I know a bot who publicly claims to make £3k a month, yet I can't find her on Companies House... Is it feasible that someone could have this income and not incorporate? She's been doing this for a while.

fromdownwest · 17/12/2019 11:25

@montanaskies

Yes, Incorporating is not mandatory, there are tax advantages, but also many disadvantages.
Many people earn 6 figures without incorporating (outside of FL obvs!)

FL went through a stage of wanting LTD after their name, as it added Kudos. I don't think FL bots incorporate to save tax, it is more to distance their personal assets when it goes belly up.

9dartfinish2nd · 17/12/2019 11:38

Echoing what @fromdownwest says, Bots can either setup LTD companies or they can be Sole Traders.

However if things were to go belly up for the bot a LTD company has more protection when it comes to protecting assets. Sole Traders however have nowhere to hide and can lose everything when HMRC come calling.

The bots with Directors loans are now praying that things take a turn for the better when in realty anyone with a hint of critical thinking can see that the industry boomed around 2014/15 and has been in terminal decline ever since and it's not going to recover to those levels ever again.

MontanaSkies · 17/12/2019 12:27

Interesting - thanks. My tax/ business knowledge isn't great! Hadn't thought about the disadvantages. Including the fact that people can look bots up and call them out on their bs!

GoldenKelpie · 17/12/2019 17:45

Thanks for the Nurse updates. I am missing checking out stalking her fb page as I am now blocked Shock. Please do keep the updates coming, no matter how mundane Grin.

danbarnes · 17/12/2019 17:54

I don't understand how £10 covers all the items in the care pack? Don't the toothpastes cost that themselves?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 17/12/2019 19:29

I think it might only be the lip balm that's FL from the description but even so that's 106 lip balms

Gotmychocolateimgood · 17/12/2019 19:38

My local FL bot has produced care packs for hospital. Travel size FL products inside. She has asked friends to sponsor this project by buying packs. There are 100s in her front room, she needs friends to wrap them up to help her. Cellophane plus bubble wrap plus wrapping paper. 🙄Wasteful much?! Obviously it's to prop up her CCs.

This particular bot is in Castle's downline and quite regularly copies and pastes posts from her. She has been to Castle's sunshine villa and lately has been featured by FL as a speaker / in their magazine as they are getting more desperate in hard times. This is inflating her ego no end. She is an NHS employee and I wish she'd give it up.
