MLM Botwatch 55

Yes, thread 55 in a long series!
Thinking of joining an MLM? Forever Living? NuSkin? Younique? Valentus? One of the cryptocurrencies, weight loss coffees or travel agencies?
Read these threads first!
The vast majority of people who join an MLM actually LOSE money.
You don't have a business when you join an MLM, you are an unpaid rep.
On these threads you will find lots of examples of how 'uplines' lie to hook you in and keep you spending your own money.
You should also inform yourself by looking at

No Yawn helping defend her either.

Spongebobette · 14/12/2019 17:50

Every time someone buys something from her she thinks she’s making a profit, disregarding all the money she’s spent

OP posts:
CodenameVillanelle · 14/12/2019 18:22

She claims she has a team but literally never tags anyone in anything.

Spongebobette · 14/12/2019 18:26

I think she’s stretching it a bit. She means the whole of Yawn’s downline - she’s in that ‘team’

@spongebobette I think talking about Yawns personal taste detracts from the real issue with MLM and the impact on those vulnerable to it. How she chooses to decorate her house is entirely her decision and has nothing to do with the scammy 'business' she runs. As a relative newcomer those comments wouldnt have encouraged me to read on if I hadn't already noted the previous useful comments.

Spongebobette · 14/12/2019 19:12

Yes I get that.

Wonder if Yawn will attempt to reinvent herself as an interior designer when the FL ship goes down?

I saw you coming!

Ladiva1971 · 14/12/2019 21:25

I notice Yawn has not come to the defence of Nurse regarding the bullying, despite her being totally bullied and victimised. Is it because she doesn't give a crap? Or is it because she has nothing to gain? Any thoughts on this?

Cozie’s alive!!!! (Bellowed in my Brian Blessed voice.) Grin

Broke has actually deactivated his FB. Probably the first time he's done something he promised.

Now we will never know how the harebrained scam in Indonesia goes.

MLMsuperfan · 15/12/2019 08:08

He said he was going to wait 30 days and set up a new account. Why I have no idea.

BSintolerant · 15/12/2019 09:11

We’ll find out what’s going on in Indonesia by watching the Six O’Clock News.

Willowsauntie · 15/12/2019 10:05

Incredibly sad to see what IronBot's move to Ireland has meant for their daughter. No access to the NHS. I do hope they meet their fundraising target.

Just seen a bot on local buy and sell trying to flog CBD oil/Essens/FM World/Actilab.
Is there no end to when they will try to stop plates spinning.

YouokHun · 15/12/2019 13:08

I see Mrs Messiah is pushing an antivax agenda on her FB with the Messiah chipping to say that since we’ve been vaccinating there has been a massive surge in Autism. He’s not listening to the possibility of a number of variables at play. I’m not keen on the Messiah peddling this message to his gullible followers who no doubt are often people at a similar life stage with young children.

It reminds me of a local Osteopath who has a side hustle run from abroad as a JuicePlus senior recruiter. He uses their large platform to push the same agenda and of course JP are happy for him to do that.

CanICelebrate · 15/12/2019 13:11

I’m new to the thread. There is a school mum who is a tropic bot and now has at least 4 other bots under her from the same school. I’m horrified to find out one of my friends has joined! She’s clever, her family are not struggling financially and she’s lovely. The only way I can describe the main woman is that she looks like a pimp at the school gate (I know that sounds weird but that honestly what she’s like; intimidating, fake charm and fake smile). She makes me uncomfortable and now my friend is part of it which worries me

YouokHun · 15/12/2019 13:56

Welcome @CanICelebrate. Where I live Tropic is cutting a swath through some of the private schools, among the parents with no fixed career but a bob or two spare. The products are expensive so people start off as customers then convert to “preferred” customer status (also known as being recruited into the downline). They think they’re in a selling business but the only way to make money in MLM is to build a huge downline. One Tropic bot I’ve been talking to hadn’t read the small print and didn’t realise she needed to place a certain amount of orders to stay active. Cue frantic purchases for herself in the hope of flogging the products later. Her problem is that all her friends are doing the same and discovering that even the most willing retail customers don’t need a £50 moisturiser every month. The Queen Bee is benefitting from similar ignorance and I’m sure your friend will get stung. The difficulty is that you will have a hard time getting through to her. Have a look at the botwatch blog or Anti MLM Coalition as there’s advice on how to handle someone who has fallen into mlm.

CodenameVillanelle · 15/12/2019 14:06

I'm sure your friend will say that she's only doing it 'for the discount'. If you can, point out that she will have a minimum spend each month just to keep active so it's more like a subscription than a discount. Check that she knows what her monthly minimum spend is to stay active. If she wants to spend that much per month on overpriced skin stuff that's her choice I guess

YouokHun · 15/12/2019 14:50

@CanICelebrate this is a very clear analysis from TLC (you might have already come across it).

Whiterangey · 15/12/2019 15:39

Antivaxers won't listen to reason, trying to reason with them is pointless.

They have made their minds up based on zero medical evidence. There is no link, it's been researched enough.

I'm happy to have an autistic son, he doesn't 'have autism' as that implies autism means there is something wrong with him, his own words. However, I'd be devastated of any of my children turned out like Messiah.

MontanaSkies · 15/12/2019 16:13

It's funny about Tropic - it seems to be seen as the acceptable face of MLM, "not like the others". In my area it's big too, even among people who are otherwise anti MLM.

Does anyone know if Yawn's white rangey has "FLP" in the reg plate? I saw one just now and it made me smile (and wonder!)

YouokHun · 15/12/2019 16:21

Well said @Whiterangey.

CanICelebrate · 15/12/2019 17:16

She says she sells it because she ‘fell in love with the products’! Queen Bee is vile and a bit scary if I’m honest. I do fear that my friend will become one of those people who talks about nothing except tropic
