Can anyone please advise on the best bank account currently for a 16 year old?

"Best" is a very subjective term as it depends on what you consider is important.
TSB Under 19 is fairly decent in that it's 2.5% interest on up to £2500, discounts on driving lessons when 17. Debit card and Apple/Google pay.
Santander have Mini123 whereby you get 3% interest between £300 - £2000.
Most banks have such accounts but as I said at the start, it depends what you are looking for which will determine what's best for them.

We've chosen Nationwide for their customer service record. They have not been at all pushy in trying to sell other products either.
