Universal credit and part time college course

Hi there ,
We are on UC , my husband works ft , I'm a sahp.

I want to do a part time course in order to retrain for my return to work and the college have said that 'people on benefits' can do it for free. They seem very vague about whether I , as person married to a ft worker will be entitled to free training. And vague on UC also.

I am fully prepared to save to pay full fees and to save the money to do so , but free training would obviously make it much easier.

Does anyone have experience of this?
