Also posted in mental health....

I have had some major financial issues over the past year & on the road to getting sorted now. However I did a fucking stupid thing of driving without car tax & (as I rightly deserve), I got caught.

I got fined at court (didn't actually have to attend) & it's just under £1000. That was a month ago. I'm supposed to call up to tell them that I can't pay but I'm too scared, my anxiety is through the roof, but of course I know that it isn't going to go away. I just don't know what to expect & no-one else knows. It's too embarrassing & my DH would go mental. Help :(

it wont go away so it will be better to deal with it now I too suffer from anxiety and the fear is so much worse generally than the reality of the situation,
PLease call them

As previous poster said, it won’t go away, you have to deal with it. Ring them today OP. You will be so relieved once you have. If you don’t the bill may rise.

Thanks so much for the replies, I did it! It was horrible to begin with but the lady was lovely & actually it was £300 less than I thought it was so that was a bonus.

I think it helped that my kids were in the next room & so I had to keep my self in check. Bloody phew xxx
