I seem to do ok for a while and then it all falls apart again and I get behind with everything again.

All my bills seem to be here at once this month and there is no way I can pay them all in time.

I just hate it, bloody sumer hols are here and we will end up sitting in the house doing buggar all for the whole 6 weeks at this rate.

is there any way you could put a breakdown of incomings and outgoings and when your bills are due to be paid either on paper or on here so we could try and help?

Well oddly, when I write it down it is ok, just doesn't work out that way so I dunno where the money is going.

Can I suggest that you draw a fixed amount of cash out for just one week, then write down everything you spend, even things like a 30p stamp or £1 parking meter.

Once you can see where it all goes you can start to work out what's absolutely essential and what can be put on hold.

With your bills, if I were you I'd phone everyone, say you have a bit of a cash flow prob, offer to pay say half now and half next month. Much better, imo, than ignoring them and winding people up.

My clients are much more likely to get a positive response from me if they do that than if they just ignore my bills for ages.

Can I add my very p*d off struggling self to the picture?
Unsecured debt - 27% of family income
mortgage 25%
childcare 22.5%
travel 15%

I need help. I just discovered another 15,000 loan i didn't know we had.

chilcare is that low coz the rest is funded by tax credit.

ruddynorah · 22/07/2007 12:14

how do you have things organised at the moment? do you know what your total income is and your total commited outgoings are? and then what is left each month? then divide that up into 4 weeks, that gives you what you can draw out in cash each week and you can only spend that.

The stretch is coping with a baby and toddler on our limited shopping money. Milk, nappies food etc.

we've tried but it's hard. I've resorted to buy the older guy oversized clothes and shoes just to save money while the younger guy wears hand me downs.

If they had been girls, they would have gone from wearing the same items for longer. trousers and long skirts would soon have become pedal pushers and mini skirts.

how do you just discover 15 k you didn't know you had?
