Baby bank accounts

Hi all

Has anyone else set up an account for their young babies? DH and I want an account we can pay into monthly, ad hoc and for birthdays etc. Our parents have also said they'd like to pop some money aside for birthdays. Does anyone have any recommendations on what kind of account would be best?

I have a bbay regular saver as its cash free and his own name.

We went with the Santander mini account. It has a good interest rate and you can also transfer the money out to yourself (until they're 18 I think when they can access it?) which I like as I know the money is accessible should we need to access it, although obviously not planning to.

I think Martin Lewis did a review of children's bank accounts, I remember looking at it when we were choosing...
