The company I work for appears to be going under

They haven't paid any of their vendors and also it appears they've been living hand to mouth for some time. All appears to point towards it going under any day.

We don't even get paid at the end of the month like everyone else because they can't afford to pay us until they receive their membership fees from clients.

I see other things happening - sudden last ditch attempt at re branding even though the supplier won't send us any products because the account is in arrears.

I have interviews at other companies lined up. If I get another job my contract says I have to work a months notice.

My question is, if they don't pay me do I still have to go to work there? I cannot and will not work for free. I'm a single parent and can barely make ends meet as it is. And I already work full time.

If they don’t pay you don’t have to work. You have a contract of employment you work they pay you for that. If they don’t pay they are in breach of that contract and you therefore don’t have to work.

Ok thank you. That makes me feel a bit less stressed. At least I can try to be earning elsewhere.
