Tax credits overpayment - have I been forgotten...?

Sorry in advance if this is a silly question.

DH and I claimed a minimal amount of tax credits for the year that I was on Maternity Leave with DD1. His income actually ended up being more than expected (with overtime), and in turn, last May I received the renewal pack (I think?) stating that we had overpaid by £300 and that we were no longer eligible for any benefits. All fine. There were no instructions in this letter for how to repay the money, so I called to ask. I was told that I would receive a Notice To Pay with instructions.

I've never received this letter - I called to chase in June, and then again in September, to be told both times that there was a backlog and the letter would be issued shortly.

Ten months on, I've still not heard anything. This was our first time claiming tax credits and I'm unsure if this is the norm or not. Have I been forgotten? Has it been written off? Does it really take this long for HMRC to claim their money back? I know £300 is minimal compared to many people's overpayments but it's been playing on my mind ever since.

I had tax credit sent me a letter for overpayment that I owned them.. they sent it out after 14 month later so it could be the same with you to wait that long too

People on UC are being chased for tax credit overpayments from 2010. Likely not forgotten just a backlog.
