Shouldnt be long now - I bet you hear next week!!

Was discussing this with DH this morning and he reckons that most banks close your account 28 days after settling the claim. Is this true, or just scare mongering? Am off to look at moneysavingexpert. Thanks for the prompt, ladies!

I've just sent off my second letter to halifax after they took forever to send me my list of charges. Hopefully i'll hear back by the end of this bloody year!! [rolls eyes]

They only close your account down if you do not agree with their terms and conditions i.e. if you get charged again and try to claim back then they say that they cannot offer you a banking facility anymore etc etc.

Oh no, just read about the current suspension on charges claims

Maybe thats why Natwest were dragging their heels?

Just my luck!

TM - hang in there. I think you may be ok because you have an existing claim... I think it is for anybody that has not put claim in. Phone them again!

Just to let anyone claiming with Halifax we have just had full refund of charges, interest and our court fee today, so presume they still actively dealing with claims done before this suspension.
They have been very awkward and have taken the longest time they possibly could all the way. We finally got a letter after we put our court claim in saying it was a goodwill gesture and they gave us 350 if we didn't claim again. Tbh we were going to leave it at that with this now all up in the air however it seems as we didn't cancel our court claim they have had to pay up all the charges. They still said it was agoodwill gesture but that if they won in court they don't get their costs refunded anyway so it wasn't worth them pursuing it.
