Will mortage lender contact my employer?

We have an application in for a mortgage. Credit checks are done and it's waiting to be assessed by an underwriter according to our broker.

I've provided 3 months payslips and bank statements and have been there 6 years, but just wondering if they will contact my employer for confirmation? I gave my line managers details and he is away for two weeks - just wondering if I should get in touch with different contact details.

I had some time off recovering from an operation in Oct/November so this shows up on my payslips as sick pay (full pay so no decrease in income). I'm guessing this would make them more likely to query it,

Surely GDPR would prevent you line manager from answering- so I would say no. The mortgage company have bank statements and wage slips to prove earning and employment- your wGe slip will show your tax to date pay

Oh yes, I hadn't thought about GDPR. Thinking about it, they'll probably let us know of any extra information they need/are seeking won't they? Thankyou for the reply.
