Can I cash a postal order for someone?

So my partner has received a postal order and needs to exchange for cash in the post office... however he's busy with work and as a sahm I've got plenty of time, but will the post office let me cash it for him if I take his ID? Or does he have to do it himself in person?

Has the postal order been crossed? (2 lines down the middle). If so it can only be paid into the bank. Don't know if you can cash it for him though

No it's uncrossed

Yes I think so, if he gives you some of his id you just take it to the post office. Maybe he needs to sign it on the back? It should say on the order.

I have cashed 2 postal orders & both times without ID , but it may be different for you due to your husbands name being on it
