International money transfers - who do you use

The online places like OFX, my currency transfer etc seem to offer much better rates than the banks and less / no fees.

Has anyone used one before? Are there any downsides?

I think we use Transferwise; dh seems convinced by them.

We have used Torfx a lot and Transferwise. Transferwise were quicker and gave better rates when we used them a couple of months ago.
