Pension and tax credits

After reading another thread just wondering have I been giving my tax credits total wrong all along. Husband pays the minimum pension with his work as can't afford any more. He has recently got a small pay rise so thinking should add this to his pension. However when I give tax credits total do I give his total from p60 or should I be giving this figure minus his pension . I'm totally clueless on pensions

P60

if its an auto enrolment pension it will have been taken into account ...
on his pay slips it will show "gross pay" and "taxable pay" as different numbers.
