Hi all, I have some questions regarding UC. I've been living on my own with my child and single claiming UC. I've rekindled my relationship with my child's father and we have decided to live together again - he will be moving back in to our home. I've calculated our joint entitlement for UC and although he is working he will be able to claim a little bit more to add to my claim - he has never received any sort of benefits before having always worked full time. My questions are -
My payment is due in two weeks - would this be delayed if I add him to my claim now?
Would he need to go to an appointment at the job centre like I did to support my claim or is it just automatic as I have already passed all of my standard identity etc at my appointment.
Will he have to provide proof of address etc, as obviously he has not actually got any having been living somewhere else for the last year and only just moving back in - his proof of living at this address (if he still has any) will be too old to use.
If anyone could shed some light on this that would be appreciated, as if my payment will be delayed and he needs to attend an appointment I will just wait until we have all necessary paperwork etc
