Hi Mums! I need an advice.I am on UC. I get monthly £51. I found a job but I don’t know if I will get any help with child care cost. The nursery cost £750 my son is 2Years old-just turned. My HB earns £2200 but he has got deducted company shares etc so he receive around £1500. UC counting from £2200. I will be earning £17000. Do you think I will get any help with the cost?

If both parents are working you should be eligible for tax-free childcare. It basically means the gvt will contribute 20% of the overall cost.

Can't get Tax-Free Childcare if claiming Universal Credit.
See if the Government calculator will give you an indication of which is better in your circumstances: www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator
The Turn2Us Universal Credit calculator may be useful as well: www.turn2us.org.uk/Benefits-Calculator-redirect

I already calculated it online and it said up to £1800pa or 15hours free. But to be honest the calculator say something and we always get or even not get anything.I just really want to see how the hell is the UC making decisions. When I went to my work couch the lady said that we will get nothing because of the earnings of my partner-I know it’s nearly nothing but she was wrong because we get £51. And same thing she said if I start working than we won’t will be eligible for any nursery cost help.
