Can't you borrow from a relative? These kind of places will sting you.

Darciesmum · 14/06/2007 17:01

contact the companies you own money to and explain what has happened...

Darciesmum · 14/06/2007 17:05

tried that but they keep ringing had letters through the post this morning.
its stressing me out

I would definatly contact the companys first, and only go elsewhere as a very last resort.

Tortington · 14/06/2007 17:09

ring them up and come to an agreement. miss one month but payback an extra 10 per month when you get paid.

sounds like you need to work out yourfinances at your local CAB.

I promise you a loan only looks good short term.

lulumama · 14/06/2007 17:09

have you told them the situation?

LIZS · 14/06/2007 17:10

borrowing more, even short term, is rarely the answer. Can you get some advice from CAB or someone else independent. Freezing interest payments on debts may be a start for instance.

NuttyMuffins · 14/06/2007 17:51

Please don't go to the provident. I have a loan with them, taken out when i was with xp, but in my name (doh yeah i know).

I borrowed £1000 but am paying back £1890 at £20 a week, still have just under a year to go, anxd £20 each week when you are already struggling is alot of money.

Do what Custy said.

scorpio1 · 14/06/2007 18:39

please do not use Provident. once, we took out a £1000, at £33 per week for 55 weeks. they charge 33% APR.

best bet is to go to CAB and ring the people/companies you owe money to.

Tortington · 14/06/2007 23:00

please look up your local credit union - they do loans at 1% per month accumilative.

google

"ABCUL"

(association british credit unions sommat )

Only to get me through this month as my wages were messed up completely.

So got no money whatsoever, they are going to backpay me from 1/5/07 - in Junes paypacket so will have a good wage then, but got bills to pay in the mean time

Darcie, if your employers have messed up they MUST sub you until they pay out. There is absolutley no good reason to make you wait for your money, refer to the terms of your contract and it should tell you on what day you will be paid. They may be in breach of contract and should therefore sub you enough to get by on. Can you not tell them how financially strapped you are ?

Darciesmum · 15/06/2007 09:15

Hi Grrr, yes told them at our offices they then relay to Capita and they sort the pay out, we were promised money last week and it never appeared.
all my colleagues have been effected to, and just causing major problems. mums helped with essentials like food.
but bills haven't been paid coz no money to do so. have called companys and explained but they just keep calling.

You could be waiting ages for Capita. Have you got a union or could speak to CAB as to where you stand legally.

Darciesmum · 15/06/2007 09:21

don't have a union Lizs no.
I'll have to book an appointment with CAB

Grrrr · 15/06/2007 09:33

You must request some form of compensation even after you get paid as unless it hits the employer financially they will not take steps to ensure this sort of cock-up doesn't happen again.

Darciesmum · 15/06/2007 10:15

Grrr i've already thought about the compensation issue with my colleagues we have put something in writing.

Its not the first time its happened, it happened when we were taken over by capita, right at the end of maternity leave and they didn't pay my maternity money for 2mths

Tortington · 15/06/2007 12:05

if you incurr bank charges ( i only know of bank charges not sure of other incurred charges) the employer must pay them back.

so £35 chargeoff bank for missed payment say to catalogue company - they have to pay the £35

i would contact CAB regarding your employment rights.

fireflyfairy2 · 15/06/2007 12:09

Do you have an overdraft?

Darciesmum · 15/06/2007 13:58

ok custy thanks didn't know that.
and firefly i have a tiny overdraft, which i've only just managed to get out of it!
