Hi,

Has anyone signed up to online surveys and made money?

I’m a SAHM and want to make some money from home, I have money from renting a flat but I have to pay the mortgage and maintenance from that as well, I really don’t like asking my DH for money even though I know it’s ours.

So thought i’d try surveys it’s something I can do watching tv in the evening but wasn’t sure if i’m Wasting my time! TIA x

Not enough to make a difference, in my experience. I was on Ipsos and did every single survey I was eligible for, kept it up for about 3 months and made about £5 per month. I keep meaning to start it up again as the £5 was like a nice bonus every so often (tip - if you do that one, always take the £5 pre-paid Mastercard rather than the £5 Amazon voucher; you spend less points on it, and can then use Amazon's wallet feature to put the money into your Amazon account.)

I'm looking in to 20Cogs at the moment, which claims to have bigger payouts, but looks like you have to put a lot more into it, including actually signing up for things like gambling sites and putting £10 in (ultimately for £20 payout), or monthly subscription services (like Which?) which you then need to remember to cancel before they start taking more money. If you've got the time and the organisation skills it might be doable, but I'm not sure I'll go the distance.

Thanks for replying. I’ve signed up to a few sites, I don’t know if that’s the key to making money, i’ll give a go, I have noticed they offer cash but seem to work on points?

Most of the ones I've seen (which is only 2 or 3) work on a points system - different surveys give you different points, then once you get to, say, 500 points you can redeem them for a gift voucher (maybe paypal transfer? I've not seen it, but I expect some do work that way)

I actually make a fair bit via branded surveys and e-rewards. Not a fortune but maybe 100 a month in my spare minutes

You can, but it won't be much. I do pinecone, inspired opinions and yougov. I make about £10 a month maybe? It's taken me 6 months to almost hit pay out on Yougov which is £50. Sometimes you get lucky and get invites to longer surveys which pay out more over a period of time but I've noticed a lot of survey sites have just gone over to sending out products.
I've had more success with doing surveys for Uni's mostly in the US which pay $40 a time.but they are harder to find as you have to fit certain requirements.
