Child tax credits - does this sound right?

Hi, does this drop in CTC sound right?
5 children only 4 eligible on claim (youngest born after cut off for new changes) 2 children on disability premiums. We were getting 216 a week.
Oldest child left education (starting uni) so no longer on claim.
Oldest child is not on the disability premium.
Payments are down to 157 a week.
So 59 a week drop for 1 child
Does that sound right?
If the other 3 got the same amount that would come to 179 and 2 of them have a premium too?
Anyone know how they work this stuff out?

I would make sure that they have removed the oldest child and that you are still receiving 2 disability premiums. They may have accidently removed a child and a premium.

Also go to entitled.com and see what that figure comes to and compare.

All the information is available online for you to work it out exactly - websites like entitled to will give you a rough idea.

You basically add up all the bits you are entitled to, then deduct for income. Takes a while but worth checking every year as TC can get it so hugely wrong.

Yep I misspelt it

The threshold will go down with the number of children on the claim.

Thanks for your replies, I’ll look on entitled to. Dh has rang and they’ve said it’s right but I’m not convinced
