I went to a friends party a couple of days ago and received a parking tickets after driving around for ages looking for a space. I saw poles with signs saying parking permits only with the usual about between 8-8 for 2 hours.

Anyway i found a space and parked under the pole and there was not anything about not be able to park there so i did. I didnt think i was being naughty. 2 Mins after i parked i got a ticket.

I will be writing a letter to them as i cant afford to pay this and i also dont think i was in the wrong.

Have taken pictures today.

You did the right thing by taking photographs, write to the local council and explain.

Can you prove that you did not park there before the 8AM?

Because someone I know parked at 2pm (parking restrictions finished at 1pm) and got a ticket, and when he queried it, they wrote him a letter saying that they had issued 3 penalty notices, the first one at 9am, the second at 11.30 and the third at 2.39.

He was asleep in bed at 9am and withdrawing cash from a bank on the other side of London at 11AM. Luckily he had kept the withdrawal slip and could prove that that is where he was, and they still insisted that they had issued the tickets, saying that someone else had used his cashpoint card or that he had used the underground to get there.

Be prepared for a fight.

I argued a ticket successfully by pointing out that the time was incorrect on the machines in the lot where the ticket had been issued. Ticket was issued 2 min after expiry of ticket. They sent me one letter arguing with me and when I sent second letter arguing my side even more strongly they backed down and wrote off ticket.

I received a parking ticket through the post for not paying in a multistorey car park.
On looking I realised it was while I was at work and dh had the car. I asked him and he said he hadn't had a ticket so I wrote tot hem and denied the fact that a ticket had been issued on the car. I asked for photographic evidence that we were parked without a ticket and have heard nothing back for over a year

the ticket was issued at 802 pm but the point was not the time but i parked under a post with no warning on it. All the other had a warning so i didnt park under them i parked under the one without.

Any words, am awful with letters but should right this tonight.

will be posting letter tomorrow. Do you think i should include a chq?
