My area is rolling out UC from next month (September). I renewed my TC in July and got my renewal statement which showed that my payments would go down dramatically come September😟. My question is, is this my new UC amount without having to do anything? or do I have to make a fresh application for UC? Any help welcome!

You'll do a new allocation for UC. 5-6 weeks waiting list I've been informed

That's great thanks

They have not started to migrate people to UC yet- this will not start until July 2019 at the earliest and even then it could be another two years before you have to switch unless you have a change in circumstances. Just because Uc comes to your area does not mean you have to switch to UC.

Just phoned TC helpline. Turns out the huge reduction was due to the fact that my DD just turned 16. I had already informed them that she is staying in school but apparently I'll get a new award in September to reflect this. Massive relief! Just had to tell someone!! I 😅
