Does anyone know how to sell US shares?

I know it sounds a bit poncey, but dp has shares from a previous job, and we now need the cash to buy a house.

Can't find anything simple enough for me to understand on google, so I thought I'd ask the MN crowd.

Anybody got any experience of this?

moneysavingexpert has info on brokers - you would need to check they can do US stuff for you

Citibank US & Bear Stearns definitely offer brokerage as DH has used them

Be sure you check out the tax angle - both US and UK. Also, if stock has appreciated from when it was given, you will probably owe tax so take that into consideration when you're figuring finances.
